Snack attack

Once in a while we get hungry and many times, we eat anything without thinking about its nutritional value. When we feel like we are hypoglycemic that makes are very irritated and our hand tremor?
Sugar levels low? Lacking energy? Attacking the snack drawer is the easy way out, but offers no long-term nutritional benefits. Here are some “Worst Snack Foods” by Jonny Bowden, M.A., C.N.S:

1. French Fries
Don’t be reassured by the fact that McDonald’s is changing its cooking oil. French fries are still starchy, white potatoes cooked in hot fat and flavoured with chemicals and sugar. Possibly the worst snack food on the planet.

2. Donuts
Fried bread. Need I say more? And if that wasn’t bad enough, add a sugary cream filling and a glaze of more sugar on top. Any questions?

3. Chips (Potato or Corn)
These are really just a packaged version of French fries (see #1). However, you can do damage control on this one by switching to baked blue corn chips, available in health food stores. It’s still not real food, but it beats the 7-Eleven version any day.

4. Soda
And sorry, this includes the diet kind. Absolutely nothing of any value here, and a whole lot of chemicals to boot.

Quick cooked egg

I really like eggs no matter how it is cooked. But I usually avoid using oil in it. As much as possible we need to avoid oil in our food. Oil not always good in our body. It will predispose one to have clog in the blood vessels. Here is a an example to cook egg without using an oil. Crack an egg into a small glass bowl or wide cup, prick the yoke and microwave on high for 28-30 secs - a quick cooked egg - no oil or butter! Serve on toast. For extra taste, grate cheese on before cooking.

Amazing domestic seafood recipes

I have a little passion on cooking. Just lately, I want to enroll in culinary arts school. It feels so great to cook. It is more satisfying feeling when people like the food that you prepared. I really love seafood even though I have some allergic reaction when I eat them. I like crabs as well as my family. I like it when it is cooked with coconut milk. It is just so easy and quick to prepare. Bring the crabs to boil then add spices. Then add the coconut milk. Then boil it again and serve it hot. It is so yummy and tasty. It is a very simple domestic seafood dish but will give so much fun eating with our loved ones. I consider it as one of the amazing domestic seafood recipes I know. I used to watch “Iron Chef” in the TV. I am so amazed with the chefs. I am looking forward to see the upcoming culinary competition Cook off  to be held at New Orleans Morial Convention Center this Agust 2-3, 2008. Do not miss the event of Great American Seafood Cook-Off. It is great when we support our own domestic seafood that sustains us.
